Welcome to the JCS K-8 Social Studies Blog.  My name is Dessa and I am currently the social studies curriculum specialist for the JCS K-8 program.   I look forward to building this blog for all parents and teachers to use as a tool to enrich and enliven your social studies programs.   I want this to be a friendly place where we can all come together to share with each other what we are doing at home to make history come ALIVE.  Make sure to read the first post from Karin Knutson who describes a very meaningful and rich experience she put together for her children and then let me know what you would like to share on this blog.
